Carrara Lions Club

Carrara Lions chartered in 2010.  We have a great mix of members from different countries, varying backgrounds, some working some not, husbands and wives, singles, with members both youthful (at heart!) and mature (experienced!). We smile a lot, find great reward in what we do and are all part of a friendly social team.

We are a young, enthusiastic club and our fundraising allows us to contribute to a large number of local community support organisations, certain health research projects, & disaster relief when needed.  Locally we continue to provide gifts on mothers and fathers day to certain older mums and dads who are without family, collect spectacles for distribution overseas and also donate soft toys to the Mermaid Waters ambulance service to comfort young patients.

We've assisted The House With No Steps Mudgeeraba http://www.hwns.com.au/, and began a project in 2014 to facilitate the creation of a sensory garden for clients at the facility.  As a result of our members time and labour along with the co-ordination of community grants (and some hugely creative planning),  we were delighted when the "Dream Catcher' garden was officially 'opened' for enjoyment in December 2014 (see photos).

If you have been looking for a little extra purpose in your life and would like to be part of a friendly club whose aim is to add value to our local community, we would love to hear from you.   Call 0468 724 531 or email carraralionsclub@gmail.com to find out more.

Lions - Who are we and what do we do?

Lions Clubs are part of community life, in the cities and in the country. Clubs are easily identified by their distinctive Logo, the trademark of our International Association, and the 'We Serve'; motto.

We are a group of people who are dedicated to making our communities a better place to live, work and grow.  We collaborate with like-minded people to try and provide real change and create opportunities within our communities.  At Lions we can make things happen.

Lions Australia has a proud history of acheivement in Distaster and Emergency Relief, Medical Research and Community Service.  We were at the coalface for Cyclone Tracy, the Black Saturday bushfires and the Queensland Floods.

Worldwide our 1.3 million men and women in 205 countries and geographic areas conduct vision and health screenings, build parks, support eye hospitals, award scholarships, assist youth, provide help in time of disaster and much much more.

Join us in making our communities and the world better places to live.
